Chapter 4

I walked out of the arena with Delilah close in tow and I really couldn't even believe what I just did or what i just said as we got in my car and drove home.

We took off back to the apartment I parked then got out and said "I just realized I slapped Kris Letang in the face" She said "YAY!" then started jumping up and down as i locked the car and we walked upstairs and did our school work. Then next day was our school dance so we sighed and we were really each others dates and we got ready in our dresses.

We sighed and went down and got into the car and drove to the school and got out. We walked in and all the jaws dropped as we walked in and then walked over to a table and sat down. About half way through the dance we both sighed and walked outside completly bored with what was going on inside.

We sat outside on the wall and laughed about some stuff that we saw inside then i reached in my bag and pulled out my cell but be4 i could do anything I saw Mrs.Lemuiex's car pull up and she got out and "Come on girls" she said smiling "I'll take you to a real party" We shrugged then smiled and went and got in and she took us to the Omni William Penn Hill Hotel and she made us wait in the one lobby and she walked in and we saw a big party going on.

About 5 minutes later the doors opened and she motioned for us to walk out. Lilah and I walked out into the ball room and instantly the whole place STOPPED and I looked around and all the mouths were on the ground. We walked down the steps and Cookie and Brooks were waiting at the bottom and held their hands up and helped up down the rest of the steps and kissed our hands.

I smiled and hugged him then I walked over toward where Mrs.Lemuiex was but I was stopped when I saw Jordan just staring at me and Geno was talking to Delilah. Well see that kept up for like 5 seconds until the tables were moved and the DJ started playing music. I walked over and grabbed Lilah and we walked out onto the dance floor and started dancing but we got bored and were gonna leave when our favorite song came on.

"Cyclone" came on and I drug Delilah onto the dance floor and we started dancing and were soon joined by Mrs.Lemuiex then Maxie came over and started party boying making us all laugh our asses off. We kept dancing then walked over and sat down when "Something about the way you look tonight" came on and Geno came over taking Delilah's hand and took her to the dance floor.

I got up and walked out into the open patio and sat down on the edge of the water fountain looking up at the sky. I was so bored and I felt like Lilah had found the guy for her and yet I was still back in the back and i felt tears coming to my eyes as my mind said "she doesn't need you she has him" i felt my heart snap as i got up adn called and Taxi then went home and packed my stuff up and left Delilah a note

"Lilah,
I know your gonna be mad but you have Evgeni now you don't need me I'll only hold you back. I wish you and Geno all the happiness in teh world but i can't stay here not with Kris here and anyway ill just get in the way of you and your happiness....my feelings don't matter as long as your happy it doesn't matter what happens to me....im sorry"

I left the house and got in my car putting all my stuff in it still in my dress and i got in and drove away. I knew where i was headed but i wasn't sure why I was headed home back to my small town house in the middle of no where. I drove for about 3 hours until I got home to my ranch house. It was empty cause i just had a friend who came over and took care of the horses while i was at school. I parked the car and got out taking my stuff inside then called him and told him i was back.

I felt tears falling down my face as i changed into sweats and a sports bra i felt my knees give out as i fell to the floor leaning against the wall crying. I felt like it had happened again I had lost another friend because they had found the one they loved and didn't need me to be there for them anymore.

I got up and walked into the bedroom and laid down and eventually cried myself to sleep. For the next 3 months I stayed there I had no contact with the outside world I didn't know what had happened to Lilah but I watched the Penguins every time they were on. Then the one day I was watching and they were interviewing Jordan who had been having a really bad stretch.

"Jordan why have you been going through such a bad stretch?" Dan Potash asked him. "I just am in a rut that's all" he said sighing and Geno walked over and whispered something in his ear and he left the interview. I didn't know what had went on and I was kinda worried.

The game ended and it went to the next program as I sat down and sighed. Then i walked out of the house.

And walked over to the horse stable and took care of them. I let all 10 of my horses out to the pasture and walked over and sat on the fence. My black stallion Slap shot walked over and i smiled and hugged him. "At least you'll always need me" i said to him as i petted his nose and he nudged my arm. I smiled and jumped up onto his back and we walked through the woods and out into the pasture just around me 1000 acre ranch.

"I wonder how Jordan's doing...behind the scenes i mean" i say softly knowing I really missed him. "I wonder if Delilah is doing alright.....I wonder how daddy and all them are doing" I sighed and Slap Shot whinnied and shook as if he was saying. "WHY DONT YOU GO SEE THEM"

I sighed and said "Fine ill go" and he went back to the house and I went and got some stuff and changed into this dress.

I sighed and got in the car and drove back to Pittsburgh. I drove slow once I got close to the arena seeing all the guy's cars there for practice and I got out of the car parking it and the guard smiled and let me through. I walked back into the back and ran into Coach Byslma and he hugged me and said "I think your what we need" he led me out toward the ice and made me hide in the shadows.

He ran some drills then shook his head and walked over pulling out the mat and stuff and said "you boys need a kick in the ass" I looked out and saw Lilah on a pair of skates near the bench and Coach Byslma walked over and took my hand and walked me out and helped me stand on the mat but my feet didn't touch the ground/ice surface long be4 Cookie had me scooped up into a massive hug.

Then I was passed around until I was set down in front of Lilah who walked over and slapped me across the face the guys came over to stop us but were stopped by the coaches cause she hit me again punching my chest and then started crying and I pulled her into a close hug. "I'm sorry hunny.....im sorry" i whispered as i held her and she cried and punched me repeatedly in the shoulder/chest.

I held her there til she stopped crying and hit me again and this time i slapped her back. "Ow damn it that hurt" i said and then she stuck her tongue out at me and it just turned into a fight that you would expect 2 see from 2 year olds. It was a complete sissy fight and we ended up walking off the ice together and into the locker room we talked then when the guys came in I decided to make my escape.

I walked out of the locker room and down the hall toward the exit when I heard "are you just gonna leave again without saying goodbye?"

Chapter 3

I walked back into the locker room and asked if I could talk to Kris outside. We stood out there and I asked him "Kris....what was that for?" I didn't undertsand why he had touched my face and then just walked away.

He didn't answer he just covered my eyes with his hand then pulled me to him kissing him. I was in such shock but then kisses back for the first time I felt loved. "I love you" he said smiling then left me there and I went to go find Delilah so we could head home and change.

For the first time as I sat there watchin Kris and Geno play I felt like someone loved me other then Delilah. I was smiling and happy but something inside of me told me that it really wasn't gonna last. We cheered and yelled for the guys and we were really happy. After the game were were escorted by security down to the locker rooms.



I smiled when we walked in and all mouths in the room dropped. Then the one guard said "Miss Kris went out that way" i nodded and turned around goign to go see him but reallly I wish i didn't....





I turned the corner to say "Hi" but thats all the came out of my mouth as I looked and saw him making out with some other girl her hands were all over him and his all over her. "I love you Veronica" he kept whispering. "What about that other girl?" she asked him inbetween kisses. "She's nothing more then something to use for when your away" I felt my heart snap and I turned going back into the locker room.





There were tears streaming down my face as I walked in and Delilah instanly jumped up but was beat by Cookie who caught me be4 i fell down. "What happened Aryanna?" He asked concered as he held me up and i cried into his chest. "He lied to me....." I whispered taking my phone out of my little purse and playing the recording of what Kris had said. I saw fire go into Jordan Staal's eyes but I ignored it.





Cooke let go and walked over tryin to calm jordan down when Kris walked in and wrapped his arm around my waist. I don't know what came over me but i ripped away and slapped him HARD across the face then ran out crying. Delilah followed and gave him and look that should have made him fall over dead.





"ANNA WAIT!" she yelled as she followed me But i was long gone. I didn't even know where i was headed but I stayed in the back alley ways and ended up by PNC Park and I walked down and sat on the sidewalk beside the river crying. I couldn't believe i let myself get hurt like that again.





I eventually went back to the apartment and Delilah came and found me but i was just sitting on the couch in a baggy pair of sweats and a baggy shirt I looked like hell warmed over but i didn't care. The next day i didn't even go to school and i staye dlike that for about a week then I went back to school and one night it was Delilah and my turn to shift at work.





We walked in silently I was still so depressed and just felt worthless. I went and worked the whole night but right at the end of our shift one of the Penguins trainers walked in. "Hi Henizy" Delilah said smiling. "Hey where's Aryanna....the guys have been really reallly worried about her especially Stallsy" He said. I was behidn the one wall just sitting there.





Delilah came and got me and we left and went to the arena. When we got there he lead us back to the locker room where Delilah walke dina nd every single one of the players jumped up and looked for me. I walked in with a sweatshirt on and i forgot i had both wrists bandaged up and I pushed my sleeves up.



NExt thing i knew Cookie had me down on the bench and was kneeling infront of my taking the bandages off to reveal both my wrists.







The whole room stopped as he stood up and all the guys saw my wrists jordan slide down beside me and he reached over tracing my wrists softly. "Why aryanna?" he asked looking at me. I just got up and walked out not wanting to even talk or look at anyone and I ended up on the ice sitting on the bench wall.



I sat there for awhile til i heard skates on the ice and I looked up to see Jordan stopped right infront of me. I didn't even get a chance to move before I felt him wrap his arms around me and gently pull me against his rock hard chest.



"J..jordan" i whispered softly as I felt tears as i reached up wrapping my arms around his neck he picked me up easily off the boards and held me there as i cried into his shoulder. He set me down but kept me close setting his head on the top of mine "Im sorry that Kris did that to you....I'm sorry that it happened like that" he whispered..."I'm sorry you didn't have anyone to help you and that you hurt yourself" I felt tears hitting my head from his eyes.

I looked up at him and smiled "Thanks Jordan" he helped me over to the tunnel and we walked dowan and sat in the locker room as he took his skates off. I smiled and stood up and walked out with Jordan when I turned the corner and saw Delilah and Geno making out. I couldn't pass up the oppurtunity to yell "WOOOOOH GO LILAH!" and at the same time jordan siad "Yeah Geno get some"



THis caused them to both stop and turned 50 different shades of red and then I laughed and set my head against jordan's arm and heard Kris Letang's voice and I turned to see him making a Bee line right for Jordan and I and he looked at jordan "Stay away from my girl" he warned. "She's not your Letang...you broke her heart and used her" jordan growled back. I got inbetween the to of them and had my back against jordan's chest "Kris.....go to hell i'm sure your little veronica is ready to be fucked over there in the hallway.....anyway I'm just used for when she's not around...." a small smirk came to my face "And anyway i'd rather have a country boy then some city boy who was babied all his life" I slapped him then turned and walked away and delilah yelled "ITS ABOUT GOD DAMN TIME!"

Chapter 2

I laid that night asleep in my room but couldn't stay asleep so I got up and went to the window. I stood there and looked out at the moon and the stars. Then I heard Lilah move so I shut the curtains and walked over to my bed and sat down and ended up falling back asleep.

The next day I got up and Lilah and I got ready for school

We grabbed our books then walked out of our dorms and toward our school. I was thinking about what that note had said on the table and pulled my cell out

I looked at my cell and at the name that said Kris Letang? because I really wasn't sure if it was true or not. As we were walking I noticed that those guys that beat me up before were back on campus and were watching me closely. "Great....they are back" i whispered to myself shutting my phone and putting it in my backpack.

We walked into class and sat down in the back and took out our labtops and started working on our powerpoints and projects. Then I noticed I had an email from a email address I didn't know. I opened it and it was from Jason....the leader of that group that beat the hell out of me. I looked at it and it said "We are gonna get you skank.....your gonna have some fun tonight bitch" i sat there and deleted it and sighed. I kept working on my project in silence not wanting to tell Delilah so she didn't get involved.

I compeltey forgot what the note had said from Kris as our class ended and that was the only class Delilah and I had that day cause Ms.Briggs was really sick so we got some time off from her class. I walked out of the school and looked around and found where Jason and them were and I walked the opposite way but they had guys over there too and the one grabbed me.

"Hi skank miss us" he asked as i tried to fight back but he just hit my ribs and I winced in pain and bent over. As He picked me up and walked over and held me infront of Jason. I was wincing as I looked up at them and Jason grabbed my head making me look at him. "Well lets go have some fun bitch" he said then slapped me hard across the face.

Just as he was going to do it again suddenly there were 2 voices one was Delilah's and the other was a male's voice. "HEY LEAVE HER THE HELL ALONE!" the male voice said and the guys all looked up and their eyes got wide. I took this chance to bring my foot up and kicked him in the nuts and then headbutted the guy that was holding me and stumbled back hitting the ground.

They just looked up as I saw campus secutiry and they chased them away and Delilah helped me up and i sighed "thanks for the save" We walked toward our dorms when we saw a car pull up and the trainer for the Penguins got out and said "hey girls come with me"

I shook my head my hair falling infront of my newest black eye. We went and put our stuff in our apartment then came down and got in the car with him and I stayed quiet. "The guys asked If i would come and get you. they really enjoyed talking to you and wanted to see both of you again" Delilah smiled as we drover to the arena and got out.

I stayed quiet and put my hood from my hoodie up and hid my face from sight. We went and waited for the guys to come out and being men...Max, Geno and TK walked out with no shirts on and looked around and saw us and waved like idiots. Delilah turned 10 different shades of red but i just looked down looking at my converse tennis shoes.

About 10 minutes later they told us we could come in and delilah drug me into the locker room and I stayed silent standing against the wall. I didn't notice anyone was even looking at me til i heard Matt Cooke say "Why are you hiding your face and not talking?" He sounded more like a father when he talked then anything else.

I didn't look up but I felt someone lift my chin and I came to meet the eyes of Billy Guerrin. I went to protest when he took my hood down but i didn't then he moved my hair and my black eye became visible to everyone. I heard the guys all gasp and to my suprise Kris Letang was the first one too me.

"What happened" he asked as he lead me over to sit beside him inbetween him and TK and Delilah was on the other side of him. "I got jumped by those idiots from my school" i said like it was nothing. I saw fire in alot of the guys eyes especially those who had kids then Geno went "oh yeah these for you" and he handed the tickets to Delilah who was sitting beside him blushing like crazy.

I smiled softly then stood up and walked out but Kris followed and and he grabbed my hand I turned and looked at him and he put his hand on my face where my black eye was then walked away silently..

"What....." i whispered to myself then turned and walked out

Chapter 1

It was a normal day in our lives really, school then home then back out to work. I walked with my best friend and room mate Delilah but I always called her Lilah back toward our apartment after our classes were over.

"Mrs.Brigs is killer" i said sighing my blondish brown hair falling into my face. "Yeah your telling me" Lilah responded then reached over and moved some hair out of my face. I smiled at her as we got to our apartment building and used our key to get in then walked up to our room getting our mail. We actually had a pretty nice apartment it had 2 seperate bed rooms, a living room, kitchen, dinning room and laundry room. We had like a mini house we also had a balcony that over looked the city and it was amazingly beautiful at night and in the early hours of the morning.

We walked into the room and put our books down and went and got washed up and ready for work. Our boss loves it when we dress sexy so we do it helps with our pay i guess i don't know but it gets kinda irratating.

We walked out of our rooms and looked at eachother then I threw a Pens hoodie on as did Delilah and we walked out with our keys and walked downstairs and out into the streets toward our jobs.

When we got there I noticed that no one was there at it was almost 4 o'clock normally there is a massive rush coming in but there was no one. Lilah and I walked in and saw our Boss Jason standing there. "Hey Girls....you two are working tonight but no one else is the whole place has been rented out for a private group of people" he said nodding then LEFT us there.

I looked at Lilah "Aryanna....who is gonna be here?" she asked me and i just shrugged then walked over and took my hoodie off and set it back on the coat rack and tied my hair back in a pontail then looked at my tattoo in the mirror. The paw prints are on my shouders and the wings go down.

I smiled and looked at Lilah then walked over and helped her get her hair back out of the way and we then just sat and waited. I had brought some of my homework so i started doing it back in our little cubicle area where we waiting for customers and then I heard the door bell that signals someone just opened it ring.

I got up and turned the corner and was looking directly at Lord Mario Lemuiex (He WAS knighted so he is LORD) and I just about died for a quick second then walked over to him "Hello Mr.Lemuiex. My name is Aryanna I'll be your hostess for the night along with delilah would you like to take a seat?" I really wasn't sure what to call him then he smiled. "Thank you Aryanna" he said and I walked him over to one of the booths and he sat down just as he did I turned and he said "There will be more of them coming in just set them anywhere" I turned and looked at him then nodded. "What would you like to drink sir?" I asked being polite. "I'll take a sweetened ice tea"

I nodded then walked back and made his ice tea then brought it out to him and set it down. As I did i heard the door ring again and in walked matt cooke, max talbot, sidney crosby, marc-andre fleury, kris letang and jordan staal then Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar walked in before I got over there.

"Hello follow me" i said turning and sitting them then getting their drink choices. I looked at lilah who was behind the one wall "I need your help waiting tables" i said and she nodded. I got all the drinks then walked out and set them down infront of each of them easily remembering who ordered what.

Then the door rang acouple more times as the rest of the team and staff of the Pittsburgh Penguins walked into the resaraunt. I glanced up as Delilah setted them and then got their orders and we then walked aorund and got all the orders and went and gave them to the cheifs. We watched as the guys laughed and joked around with eachother then we saw that the food was getting done and we walked out carrying it and took it to each of the tables and served the guys their food.

We walked around acouple more times and asked them how the food was and if they enjoyed it and they all said yes. I couldn't help but find myself drawn to the defensemen Kris Letang there was just a charm about him that made me wannna melt. I laughed and shook my head thinking "your an idiot he won't want you" I sighed then walked back with Delilah to the back and sat down wincing alittle at my ribs. I had taken a clean shot from one of the guys who I made mad and they really hurt.

Delilah looked at me and put her hand on my shoulder then went and refilled the drinks as I stood up and wince again holding my ribs. I walked forward and went out to help as our boss came in and started to talk to Mario and the coaches. I sighed then started to collect the stuff and clean up the tables then smiled as I waited and served them their desert.

After we served desert we went to leave them alone again but Mario said "Why don't you girls join in on the converstaions?" he said. We stopped and looked at eachother and I went and sat down at the table with him and his wife natalie. "So how long have you girls been hockey fans?" she asked notcing the fact I had a Penguins friendship bracelet on that Lilah and I had gotten last year.

"Oh" I said hiding my wrist looking down not wanting them to think that Lilah or myself were crazy fangirls who only loved them cause they were attractive....though that is a perk. "Since I was a little girl" Delilah said noticing I was to scared to talk. I nodded in agreement and Natalie reached over and grabbed my hand and I looked up at her. "Don't be scared hunny....your not one of those girls and I don't want you to be scared" she said. I nodded and looked around and I couldn't help but make eye contact with Kris again and I looked away back toward the door.

"I've been a fan my whole life" i said softly finally talking. "when i was 3 my grandpa took me to a game and I fell in love with it......I loved the team even when everyone else thought that they were stupid and said they would never win again" I looked down playing with my bralcelt as I said this and Lilah reached over and squeeze dmy hand. "You should be in our room when the game is on" Delilah said laughing softly. "It gets pretty violent" i said laughing. Then I stopped laughing and put both arms on my stomach as my ribs hurt.

"Are you alright hunny?" Natalie asked. "Yeah i'm fine" I replied then got up and went into the bathroom and she followed and saw my ribs. "Oh my god hunny...what happened to you?!" she asked seeing how black and blue my ribs were. I sighed and said "I got in a fight at school defending the guys" i say softly. "They were ripping on how they lost and I got mad and was defending them....and they held me and punched my ribs"

She walked out with me and whispered it Mario and I saw anger in his eyes but I just started cleaning up the tables and I walked back into the back and started cleaning up the dishes. All the guys left and I walked over to Kris Letang's table and saw a piece of paper and looked at it. It has his number on it and said "I'm gonna come get you from school tommorrow" I looked at the paper and put it in my pocket then we locked up and headed back to the dorms.

I walked in and curled into a ball in my bed in my Letang penguin shirt and fell asleep....but what I didn't know is that for the first time in my life.....a man was actally making a promise he intended to keep..
